AIM AND OBJECTIVES
Area cricket in Sussex is delivered in partnership between the 4 Area Cricket Associations (North, South, East and West), The Sussex Cricket Board and Sussex County Cricket Club.
The Area Cricket Associations (ACA's) play a key role in the delivery of the programme locally.
The Aim of the ACA’s is:
To structure and co-ordinate the cricketing opportunities for players of all levels on a local basis. This is done through:
a) FOCUS CLUBS - providing access to high quality club cricketing opportunities for all cricketers.
b) AREA CRICKET - providing a high quality coaching programme for talented club players between the age of 10-15 as a bridge between Club cricket and County age group cricket.
The target areas to provide access to high quality club cricketing opportunities for all cricketers (FOCUS CLUBS) should be:
1) Participation – (coaching and competitive opportunities in clubs and schools)
2) Club Accreditation – (Clubmark)
3) Club Playing Members
4) Coaching Roles
5) Volunteering Roles
Therefore, the aim of Area cricket is:
To provide a high quality and structured coaching programme for talented club players between the age of 10-15 as a bridge between Club cricket and County age group cricket
